New travel agency contract
A new contract for travel agency services has come into force today, 1 February. The new supplier is Via Egencia, and the previous contract with BCD has ended.
LiU will be one of Via Egencia’s largest customers in Sweden. The company has long experience of working with customers in the public sector, and is part of a global organisation with operations in more than 60 countries. Offices in Sweden are located in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö: the Stockholm office will take care of LiU’s travel booking. Via Egencia currently provides travel agency services to the Swedish parliament, the Royal Institute of Technology, Gothenburg University, Lund University, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish social insurance agency Försäkringskassan, and Sweden’s public service broadcaster SVT.
Stringent requirements have been set during the procurement process for how booking and invoicing are to be carried out, with high demands on IT security. In addition, a number of focus areas have formed the basis on which tenders have been evaluated. Aspects such as a self-service booking system, the allocation of resources, personal service, on-call emergency services, security, the provision of statistics, and deviation management have been evaluated. Those bidding for the contract have been assessed both on the written material they have presented and through a presentation and associated interviews. The working group has also tested the ease of use and functionality of the self-service booking system.
