New travel agency

LiU has signed a new framework agreement for travel agency services. With effect from 1 February 2017, LiU will be working with Via Egencia Sweden AB, becoming in this way one of its largest customers.

Egencia has experience of working with the public sector and currently provides travel agency services to customers that include the Swedish parliament, the Royal Institute of Technology, Gothenburg University, Lund University, the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish social insurance agency Försäkringskassan and Sweden’s public service broadcaster SVT.

The company is part of a global organisation with operations in more than 60 countries. In Sweden it has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, and the Stockholm office will be responsible for providing booking services to LiU.

The contract with Egencia comes into force on 1 February 2017 and will run until 31 January 2019, with the possibility of extension until 31 January 2021.

LiU has set stringent requirements during the procurement process on how booking and invoicing are to be carried out, and has placed high demands for IT security. In addition, a number of focus areas have formed the basis on which tenders have been evaluated. These include the availability of a self-booking system, resources, personal service and the provision of an on-call service outside of business hours.

Travel is to be booked by personal service (by telephone or e-mail), or using the Egencia self-booking system. Contact details for booking travel will be published before the start of the contract.

More information about Egencia and the new contract is available (in Swedish) on the LiU travel page

(An English version of the information will be published as soon as possible.)
