Legislation

LiU and Region Östergötland have to work systematically with fire security. To do this, there are for instance regular checks of the fire prevention measures in the buildings, fire security training for the staff and appointed managers of fire security in every workplace. Since there  are higher risks for fire in laboratories, there are also higher requirements of fire security.

There are several legislations according to fire security. Here you can find some of them, relevant for laboratory work. Unfortunately only in Swedish.

Guidance

On the website of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency there is information on the regulations , as wells as guidelines, that apply within the fire prevention field (in Swedish).

In KLARA (chemical handling system) there is information on chemical products and safety datasheets that can be downloaded. There are also risk assessment templates.

Flammable goods in laboratories must be handled in accordance with this  information from Swedish Civil Contingency Agency (in Swedish).
