Remote assistance with TeamViewer

When calling Helpdesk it's possible for the technicians, after your approval, to connect to your computer with remote assistance for troubleshooting and to guide you. This functionality is by default installed on a LiU computer or if you have an AD client on the computer. Otherwise, you need to install a program called TeamViewer.

TeamViewer installation on PC

Download and install client for Windows

System demands: Windows 7, 8.x and 10

Internet Explorer

To start the program, click on the link "TeamViewer client for Windows". Click "Run" and "Run" again to open the program. Tell the technician the ID and Password which is shown in the program.

The program is not installed on your computer.

Firefox

Click on the link "TeamViewer client for Windows" and "Save file". A TeamViewer client is now available on your desktop. Double click and choose "Run" on the security alert pop-up dialogue. Tell the technician the ID and Password which is shown in the program.

Remove te file on your desktop if you don't want to keep the file when you finish the support call.

TeamViewer installation on Mac

Download and installer client for Mac

System demands: Mac OS 10.6 or later version.

Safari

Click on the link "TeamViewer client for Mac". The client is downloaded to the Downloads folder (MacOS 10.5) and a .dmg file is added to the desktop. Double click on the .dmg file if it doesn't start automatically. Thereafter, click on the TeamViewer icon. 

Choose "Open" in the dialogue and tell the technician the ID and Password which is shown in the program. When the call is ended, close TeamViewer and drag the .dmg file to the trash can if you don't want to keep the program, and also delete the file in the Downloads folder.

Firefox

Click on the link "TeamViewer client for Mac". The client is downloaded to the desktop as a .dmg file. Double click the .dmg file and then click the icon for TeamViewer. 

Choose "Open" in the dialogue and tell the technician the ID and Password which is shown in the program. When the call is ended, close TeamViewer and drag the .dmg file to the trash can if you don't want to keep the program.
