Ongoing phishing campaign

There is currently a phishing campaign where many are recieving e-mails where the person says they are someone else than they are. Therefore be extra vigilant regarding the e-mails you receive. An example of how to recognise these e-mails are that the sender name and e-mailaddress does not match.

An example of such an e-mail can look like this:

From: Name Surname <professorsomeoneelse@gmail.com>
Sent: den 29 januari 2020 15:45
To: You
Header: Are you available?

I need a favor kindly email me back as soon as possible

Regards,

Name Surname

Head of Department

Sent from my iPhone

Note

You can block a sender through Sunet’s mail filter.

Another example

Steven Murdoch, Research Fellow at University College London, received a similar phishing e-mail where you can see example of and what the fraudsters were after.
