New guidelines for information security
All co-workers are expected to acquaint themselves with the new guidelines for information security and to follow them, in order to ensure high security at the university.
The background to an updated decision relating to information security include an increased degree of sophistication of digital attacks and an increase in the threats to which Linköping University is exposed. Further, new legislation and new regulations have come into force that place more stringent requirements on information security at LiU. The General Data Protection Regulation that came into force on 25 May 2018 is one major factor, as are also, for example, regulations from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). Against this background, LiU’s system for the management of information security has been reviewed, and a new decision about the guidelines has been taken.
It is important that all co-workers acquaint themselves with the guidelines and follow them, in order to maintain a high level of security at the university. Chapters 1 and 2 apply to all co-workers, consultants and others who work on behalf of LiU. Further chapters are relevant for, for example, heads of department, systems administrators and information owners.
