Quicker and easier software installation for Mac users with Jamf Self Service
A new service has been activated in May on all co-worker Mac computers that are included in the AD system.
The service will give quicker and easier software management. Jamf Self Service allows individual users to install various types of software quickly and easily. The service will make available free programs, selected programs from the App Store (without having to specify an Apple-ID), and other software frequently used at LiU. It will also be easily possible to gain an overview of software for which LiU has licences.
In addition to making it easier for you to manage software on your computer, Jamf is used to inventory the Mac computers owned by LiU. The computer activity of users will not be recorded.
People who have a Mac computer that is registered in the AD system have received an email from email@example.com giving more detailed information. If you believe that you should have received such an email but have not done so, check whether it has ended up in your spam folder. (It’s a good idea to add the address firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book to avoid this in the future.) Otherwise, contact the LiU Helpdesk at email@example.com or telephone 013-282828.
