Learn more about Microsoft Teams

Skype for Business (formerly Lync) is a service that allows LiU employees to see each other's presence in a Skype for business clients or via Outlook and SharePoint, and interact with each other either through instant messaging (chat) or with voice / video. It's an easy and quick way to contact a colleague and ask a question or briefly discuss something. All communication between the clients is encrypted.

Skype for Business is closely connected to Exchange. This means, for example, that your presence is automatically set to busy if you have a meeting in your calendar. It also means that you can see how long a colleague is busy just by hovering his / her name in an email or post in SharePoint. In addition to instant messaging, you can also send files, share desktops, and more. It is also possible to invite contacts who do not have Skype for business through Outlook, or LiU users to online meetings.
