International training for LiU staff and teachers

LiU employees have the opportunity to do international training abroad and can apply for both:

Employees interested in a broader cooperation with universities, and perhaps also with companies and organisations abroad can read more about EU's Erasmus+ programme.

Erasmus+ new programme 2021-2027

LiU has been awarded a renewed Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the programme period 2021-2027, starting 1 June 1 2021. The ECHE is necessary for LiU to participate in activities under the Erasmus+ programme, such as student, staff and teacher mobility, Erasmus strategic partnerships and European Universities initiative (where LiU has been granted funding for ECIU University).

Focus areas for the new programme are:

  • Digitalisation
  • Sustainability
  • Flexibility
  • Inclusion
  • Simplification

LiU Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).

LiU Erasmus strategy document (EPS).

Read more about the programme on the EU Commission web.

With the exit from the EU, the United Kingdom has chosen not to participate in the forthcoming program period for Erasmus + 2021-2027. This means that from 2021 it will no longer be possible for Swedish organizations or universities seeking funding for mobility in the UK or collaborative projects with British organizations under the Erasmus + program.

Swedish universities that have ongoing projects within Erasmus + mobility or strategic partnerships with organisations in the United Kingdom (UK) can pursue these. The organisations that have been granted the application from the 2020 call will be able to start and implement their mobility and partnership projects with partners in the UK.

The automatic renewal of Erasmus Inter-institutional agreements
as decided by the European Commission also includes the United Kingdom, which means that no agreements need to be extended individually. The exchange agreements signed with British partners then apply throughout the current program period.

The International Office is located in Studenthuset, Campus Valla, and in Kåkenhus office 2342 on Campus Norrköping.
