The European Commission has released the new work programme for the final two years of Horizon 2020. News are the launch of new innovation organisation, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and a pilot for a lump-sum approach to project financing.

The work program 2018 – 2020 has fewer topics but allocates larger budgets to these. The focus areas are:

  • A low-carbon, climate resilient future
  • Cirkular economy
  • Digitalisation and transformation of European industry and services
  • Safety Union
  • Migration

Open Science will continuosly be of relevance and 2 billion will be targeted towards sharing science and knowledge in an earlier stage in the research process. European Open Science Cloud and data infrastructure will receive support.

“A guide to ICT-related activities in WP2018-20” gathers information on ICT in the last part of Horizon 2020 and helps you identify ICT-related topics across the different parts of the workprogram.



SSF invests 240 milllion in a national call for instrument, technology and method development. Last day for application is 21 March 2018 14:00.
