All employers and providers of education have a duty to work in a preventative and pro-active manner to counteract discrimination and in other ways promote equal rights and opportunities, independently of sex, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation or age (Discrimination Act, 2008:567).
Work with active measures at LiU is organised at several levels and is carried out by several actors. HR consultants and equal opportunities coordinators are responsible for the overall co-ordination of LiU’s work with active measures. These actors also carry out central measures. Work to survey salaries is carried out within the framework of the Human Resources Division. At departmental (or equivalent) level and at most divisions and units within University Services active measures are carried out within the framework for the relevant operative unit and its requirements and preconditions. The work is presented to the University Board once a year.
Instructions and document templates for work with active measures are available at the Equal Opportunities Sharepoint site (after logging in with a LiU ID).
